Call for Papers for the Mini Track
"Business-to-Business Electronic Commerce"

Innovative technologies continue to change the landscape of inter-organizational relationships. Following proprietary inter-organizational systems, we witnessed the advent of Internet-based electronic commerce provide new opportunities and challenges to connect businesses, to facilitate transactions, and to enable collaboration among business partners, between sellers and buyers, and between businesses and public institutions. Recent developments have brought technological advances in terms of wireless and peer-to-peer technologies that can be applied in business-to-business (B2B) environments as well. After an initial focus on the facilitation and automation of business transactions with Internet-technologies, researchers as well as practitioners are now including more complex, collaborative business processes into their analyses.

This AMCIS minitrack is aimed at providing a forum to bring researchers together to discuss the ongoing implications to information systems research. We invite conceptual contributions as well as empirical and field-study research, and will focus (albeit not exclusively) on the following areas:  

• The impacts of B2B electronic commerce on business processes, organizations, and markets
• Managing the application of B2B Electronic Commerce to support buying and selling processes, and to facilitate collaboration
• The use and implications of dynamic pricing mechanisms, such as negotiations and auctions, in B2B Electronic Commerce
• Internet-based payment in B2B settings
• Business system design and analysis for B2B Electronic Commerce
• Aligning B2B Electronic Commerce strategies with overall business strategies
• Economic analysis of B2B Electronic Commerce business models
• Technical requirements and architectures to enable B2B Electronic Commerce
• Beyond “traditional” B2B Electronic Commerce: The application of new technologies (e.g., mobile, peer-to-peer)
• Reconsidering make-or-buy-decisions
• Impact of new technologies on business network design and strategic alliances
• Economic and legal issues in B2B electronic commerce systems
• Impact of emerging standards (XML, OBI, etc.) on B2B transactions and collaborative processes

We accept both completed research papers and research-in-progress (RIP) papers, with quality of the papers being our main criterion for selection. 

The following guidelines are strictly enforced:

• Completed research papers should average 4,000-5,000 words (7 pages) with
  a maximum of 14 pages including references.
• RIP papers should have at least 3 1/2 pages (2000 words) and no more than 7 pages and MUST include references.
